Management & Coaching Staff
Nicole Waldo serves as the Club & Rec Swim Team Manager and Coach for Navigators Swim Club, bringing experience in competitive swimming, USA Swimming coaching, swim instruction, and aquatics operations.
A lifelong swimmer, Nicole competed for 13 years across USA Swimming, high school, and summer league programs. Her competitive swimming background gives her firsthand experience with athlete development across multiple levels of the sport.
Before joining the Navigators, Nicole spent four years coaching USA Swimming athletes and four years coaching summer league swimming. She also has six years of experience as a swim lesson instructor. During her coaching career, Nicole has worked with swimmers ranging from developing age-group athletes to senior-level competitors, including athletes who advanced to state and Southeastern Sectional competition and participated in training opportunities at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center.
Nicole’s background also extends beyond the pool deck. Through her work with Cherokee County Parks & Recreation, she gained experience in aquatic facility operations, staff supervision, scheduling, budgeting, financial reporting, team events, and day-to-day program management. This combination of coaching and operational experience supports her role overseeing both the competitive and administrative sides of the Navigators program

Chuck Oliver has been involved as a swimmer and coach for most of his life. Growing up in Frankfort, Kentucky, he and his brothers were founding members of the Frankfort Area Swim Team. He competed in high school as both a swimmer and diver. Chuck attended Auburn University where he competed for two years.
Oliver has been coaching for 20 years at the high school level. He served as head coach at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, GA, where his teams won two GHSA State Championships, with 12 swimmers continuing to the college level, and one swimmer qualifying for Olympic Trials in 2020 and 2024. While at Blessed Trinity he also coached cross-country for 10 years as assistant boys coach, where his teams won three GHSA State Championships. After retiring in 2019, Chuck served as a community swim coach for four years at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, GA, and then has spent the last three years as a community swim coach for Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch, GA.
Chuck and his wife Kay have two grown sons and live in Gainesville, GA
