Nathan Rhoads Head Coach

Nathan Rhoads serves as the Navigators Swim Club’s first program director and swim coach. With over 30 years of coaching experience, Rhoads is an American Swim Coaches Association Level 5 Coach for both performance and education. Working with athletes at all levels of the sport has given Nate the ability to understand and anticipate the needs of his athletes and guide them to positive outcomes.

Rhoads currently serves as an Assistant Coach at the University of Georgia. Previous college roles include Breanu University (NAIA) and Gardner-Webb University (Division I). Over his college coaching career Rhoads’ teams and athletes have achieved at the highest levels of the sport – a 2025 World Champion, Olympians, Olympic Trials Finalists, National Record Holders, Youth National Record Holders, Individual National Champions (USA, International, NCAA and NAIA), and Conference Record Holders (SEC, CCSA, ASC, AAC).

At the club level Rhoads has over 15 years of experience holding positions at Lakeside Aquatic Club (TX), Quantico Devil Dolphins (VA), Westside Silver Fins (AZ), and Phoenix Swim Club (AZ). In his time as a club coach Nate’s swimmers included Olympic Trial/National/US Open/Junior National qualifiers, Youth National Team Members, Texas Age Group (TAGS) and Virginia Swimming record holders, and achieved National Top 10 and Top 16 Rankings. Rhoads' leadership has helped the teams he's worked for achieve USA Swimming Silver and Bronze Medal status for Club Excellence and Level Four for Club Recognition.

In addition to Nate's elite level coaching experience, he has coached public and private high school/middle school, summer league, masters, and has owned and developed his own summer sports camps and swim lesson programs. 

Nate earned his MBA from Brenau University, and has a bachelor's degree in English Lit and Psychology from Arizona State University. 

Coach Nate is married to Sheryl Rhoads and they have two children.

Chuck Oliver Assistant Coach

Chuck Oliver has been involved as a swimmer and coach for most of his life. Growing up in Frankfort, Kentucky, he and his brothers were founding members of the Frankfort Area Swim Team. He competed in high school as both a swimmer and diver. Chuck attended Auburn University where he competed for two years. 

Oliver has been coaching for 20 years at the high school level. He served as head coach at Blessed Trinity High School in Roswell, GA, where his teams won two GHSA State Championships, with 12 swimmers continuing to the college level, and one swimmer qualifying for Olympic Trials in 2020 and 2024. While at Blessed Trinity he also coached cross-country for 10 years as assistant boys coach, where his teams won three GHSA State Championships. After retiring in 2019, Chuck served as a community swim coach for four years at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, GA, and then has spent the last three years as a community swim coach for Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch, GA. 

Chuck and his wife Kay have two grown sons and live in Gainesville, GA
