District Meet & NGSL Championships Clarification
June 21, 2026
Hello Everyone,
Happy Father's Day!
There has been a bit of confusion about next weekend's meets. Let me start by saying these meets have nothing to do with each other. I will explain the differences between the meets below and have extended the entry deadline for both meets until 6:30pm today (6/21).
GRPA 7th District Swim Meet (Friday, June 26) - The District Meet held this Friday has nothing to do with the NGSL Championship meet on Saturday. This meet is a qualifying meet for the Geargia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) State Meet held on July 10-11 in Moultrie, GA. Swimmers must have turned in their birth certificates to participate and will need to finish in the Top 3 in their entered events to qualify for the GRPA State Meet. Only enter this meet if you plan on driving to Moultrie, GA for the meet on July 10-11. If your athlete qualifies for this meet and does not attend State, they will be taking opportunity away from another athlete that plans on attending State. If your athlete qualifies for State on a relay, and doesn't attend the State Meet, the other swimmers on the relay will not be able to compete in that relay at the State Meet.
NGSL Championship Meet (Saturday, June 27) - The NGSL Championship Meet has nothing to do with the District Meet. It is open to ALL athletes, regardless of their level, that swam in at least one of the NGSL Splash Meet (6/6), NGSL Pentathalon Meet (6/13), or the NGSL Invitational (6/20). If your athlete did not compete in one of the Saturday meets, they are not eligible. 10&Under swimmers will compete in the morning, 11&Over swimmers compete in the afternoon. Swimmer's age as of May 30th, determines their age for this meet.
